What are your thoughts? Do you think a gratuity should be part of the bill or be what the word actually says … a gratuity? If you’re frustrated by poor service at a restaurant, think twice before you decide to not tip. You may be in for a bit more […]
About 4 months ago I got in touch with a gentleman named Mike Alderman. He is the Jacksonville, FL franchisee with P&A. Over the phone he asked me a few general questions, getting to know me, both personally & professionally, and convinced that my resume needed no additional work he promised […]
The sign of our times just keeps getting better with article after article talking about growth in the hospitality industry. Many concepts are merging to form a stronger organization which is a win for everyone, customers and restaurant employees alike. Steak n Shake Co. and Western Sizzlin Corp. said Friday […]
Most recently, Burger King entered the $1 burger battle with news that it would roll out a $1 double cheeseburger to all U.S. locations on Oct. 19. A few days later, Jack in the Box unveiled its new Bonus Jack Combo Meal, which features a double-patty cheeseburger along with a […]
It is often a challenge for people with food allergies to enjoy eating in restaurants. Whether is it a “quick bite” for lunch or a romantic evening, your experience can be ruined if you have food allergies and are not provided such information from the restaurant. For example, if you […]
Just when restaurants are starting to recover from the economy they have to post the calorie count on all items on their menu. A TGIF appetizer with 3330 calories! Frankly I’m tired of the government thinking they have to “take care of us”. We can’t decide for ourselves if we […]
I always thought restaurants were missing a market with all the boaters in this country. I’d love to Captain this boat. KFC has set out to feed the fleets! The world’s largest chicken chain is launching their newest tasty Value Menu items with a different kind of launch – the […]
Tapping into Southern traditions, Hardee’s restaurants on Monday introduced a Fried Bologna Biscuit at participating locations. The new item features a thick-cut slice of grilled Oscar Mayer bologna topped with American cheese and a folded egg served on Hardee’s signature biscuits. The price is a recommended $1.89, but it is […]
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 24, 2009) Sister chain Taco Bell may use the tag line “Think outside the bun,” but KFC actually is putting that philosophy into practice with the test of a new product: the Double Down. The “sandwich” replaces bread with two Original Recipe fried-chicken fillets that enclose bacon, Swiss […]
I recently relocated to South Carolina from New York. At first I tried the usual big company name job search engines, I even reached out to a couple of recruiters but, Karl Busch at Patrice and Associates was the guy who got it done! His guidance and advice along the way was invaluable. I was able to secure an Executive Chef position at a high profile restaurant thanks to him.
Thank you!

Karl Busch not only knew the steps I was going to take, but he also helped me map out my future with these prospective companies.
In conversations with other professionals in the food and beverage industry, one thing is always certain to come up. The Struggle in finding good staff or better employment, especially during these trying times with the ever-consuming effects of COVID-19. I, admittedly have had countless conversations regarding the lack of talent or help in my kitchens. Recently I had found myself the opportunity to relocate my family to South Carolina. With this new adventure came the burden of finding new employment. Not just any employment, I needed a better and stable career to help support my family in a new environment and new unforetold challenges. Needless to say, this struggle during a normal time would have been hard enough as is, yet now with the pandemic, felt even more challenging. How do I start engaging conversation or even relatable table talk with companies I have no background with?
Patrice & Associates not only opened the doors to start conversations with new companies, but they also helped me with bios on my interviewers! What an amazing tool to have at my disposal. Finally, access to information to help me personally relate to my interviewers. Karl Bush, a recruiter for Patrice & Associates, was hands down the most professional advisor I’ve come across in my 18 years in industry. His dedication to my needs and ability to help me relate to my interviewers gave me the encouragement and support I needed to pursue my new career. Not only does this company have deep ties in the region I was looking into, but they also have a deep understanding of me, as a candidate. Karl spent much time talking and getting to know me, my family, and what exactly I needed to be and feel successful in my next employment venture. These weren’t simple “how much money do you need” talks. I mean what systems do you need in place to work comfortably, are benefits a big priority, travel time, Childcare, team size, event status, and yes even the overall flow of the environment I was stepping into. Even now as I start my new career, he still calls up every now and again to make sure my life with the new company is going well and strong. If you have had trouble finding a good place of employment, or maybe just need a change in your life, I highly recommend Patrice & Associates, and even more so, Karl Bush. You’ll be in the best hands and on the right track to finding that perfect place for you!
Best Of Luck

Hospitality Recruiters are There for You!
Back at the end of March my wife and I turned our restaurant over to our daughter and son in-law to run, with the idea we would retire. We took a couple of trips and got somethings done around the house. By the first of July I knew the retirement life was not for me.
I started filling out some applications online and just a couple days later I revived a call from Karl Busch, with Patrice & Associates, he let me know he had a position open in the area. Karl knew all my back ground was in full service restaurants and he ask if this was something I would be interested in, I let him know that I love the restaurant business and doing something different in the business is just what I needed. Karl made the phone calls and got met the interview, he really went to bat for me. After a couple weeks I am now training and really enjoying the job and the people. Karl still checks on me to see how things are going. I don’t think of Karl Busch as a job recruiter but as a friend.
Thank you Karl and Patrice & Associates for believing in me,
Dave Grant

Hospitality Recruiter Can Help You Find a Job!
Karl was the best asset in securing my new position. He was there coaching and teaching me every step of the way. I have been working in the food industry for 20+ years and this is the first time I have used a recruiter. I have been on both ends of the hiring process and Karl has helped to know what people are looking for and what I should be looking for when hiring new employees. I look forward to meeting Karl and shaking his hand. If needed I would seek Karl out again!
