Candidate Testimonial – Why We Are Different from Other Agencies!
Patrice & Associates is proud of our franchisees because we all share the same mission statement, “recruiting is not about money, it’s about helping people”. Below is an email we received from a candidate who Kim Corti helped find a job.
For anyone looking for a job:
I was looking to move my family to Florida this past May and needed a job down there in order to secure a move. I worked for Outback Steakhouse and didn’t feel that things were progressing in my favor and I was worried that our move wasn’t going to happen. So I decided to apply for jobs on Monster and Career Builders.com. I applied for any management job I could find in the Orlando area.
I got calls from lots of head hunters that wanted me to contact them when I got closer to moving or had already moved to Orlando. Except for one. Kim Corti at Patrice and Associates called me and wanted to know about who I was and what I wanted and my motivation seeking another job. I haven’t had a lot of experience with head hunters but I know customer service and this was that! After a short interview Kim told me she would look through what jobs she had available and get back in touch with me. After a couple of days Kim called me back and gave me a list of jobs she had. We went through them one by one and discussed the positives and negatives of each position. We decided that none of these positions were right for me at the time. So I waited. After another 2 weeks, Kim called me excited with a new job that had arrived to her that she thought I was perfect for. After reviewing the restaurant, I decided it was worth pursuing. Kim helped me with me resume and get into a professional and neat format and presented itself well. It didn’t take long before the restaurant,( Tony Roma’s), wanted to set up a phone interview. WoW! things were moving along! Kim then took the time to talk with me and had multiple conversations with me to prep for my interview. I felt very well prepared for anything they could ask. Needless to say I had a great interview and had a good vibe that this was it. As fate would have it, they did not feel I was the best choice for them. Kim tried to find out more details as to why but the door was closed on both of us and no info was coming to us.
After trying to transfer with outback with little success and with no secure job, no housing was available for us to move. Our move was cancelled and the job hunt went cold and I decide to stick with Outback for the time being.
Months went by and Kim called me in October and said she had some job openings and one in particular made her think of me. What?!? I haven’t heard from her since my move fell through and she was still thinking about me? Kim asked if I was still interested in moving to Orlando, to which I replied, “Not now but I would still consider it.” Kim then told me about Houlihan’s and that they were looking to fill restaurant manager positions in the Chicago area. I decided why not? I don’t like my job but I still have it if it doesn’t work. Kim gave me so much attention including updating my resume again, interview coaching and called me almost everyday to check to make sure I didn’t have any questions. I had an in person interview with the regional manager and that went great! I was told that I would be contacted by their head of recruiting and a phone interview would be set up. Kim spent several phone conversations with their head and me setting me up with the best chance to get a better career. This time I had better success and I got the job! Yeah! I called Kim to let her know the good news! I figured that would be the last I would hear from her. This was not the case. Kim texted me several weeks in a row just to see how my training was going.
I am in the customer service business and I love to see and experience great service. I was amazed by how much time and attention Kim gave to me. I would and have recommended her to anyone searching for a job because it wasn’t just about finding me a job, but finding me the right job. I will always remember Kim and tell this story for years to come.
Sincerely,
Rob Weeks
