Company connects job seekers with the hospitality industry

Our franchisees are very fortunate in that in this economic climate, which is all about jobs, not only do they help people find jobs in the hospitality industry but they have the ability to create jobs for people that want to work from home recruiting.  Below is the article that appeared in the paper this week.

One West Liberty woman has taken her more than a decade of human resources and recruiting experience into a new career venture to help job seekers find employment in the hospitality industry.

Jaime Parizek, 36, began working as a franchisee for the international recruiting agency Patrice & Associates in October. Equipped with a headset and laptop, Parizek works out of her West Liberty home to connect hospitality sector companies with prospective employees in search of management positions for businesses such as restaurants, casinos and hotels.

“For me, it’s more about what I’m doing and being able to help people find jobs and make matches to the jobs they’re looking for and fulfill their dreams,” Parizek said.

Patrice & Associates CEO and founder Patrice Rice said adding local franchisees like Parizek should help with her goals of getting back to the more personal ways of human resources and recruiting like when she first started her company in 1989.

“The days of the personal relationships kind of went away… (such as) having (Parizek) in the local area to be able to meet with the local clients and be able to get to know them,” Rice said. “I want to get back to the way it was before the Internet when personal relationships actually meant something.”

Although Patrice & Associates has had a presence in Iowa for years, Parizek marks the agency’s first franchisee in the state.

“I’m here physically, and one of my goals over the next few months is to really start building relationships and working with our Eastern Iowa clients and restaurants that aren’t our clients yet to help them fill the roles they have,” Parizek said.

Although Parizek said she’ll focus on local communities such as Coralville, North Liberty, Marion and Cedar Rapids, she also will have a national coverage between clients and job seekers.

With 13 years experience in the manufacturing side of human resources and recruiting, Parizek said she is well-equipped for the management side of the hospitality industry.

“When I’m working with the client companies, I understand what they’re going through when they’re trying to fill those roles as well, so I’ve seen both sides of the table.”

Parizek’s long-term goal includes impacting the job sector in a different manner, by eventually adding her own personal staff.

“For me, a long-term goal is to not only be able to help fill the roles of restaurants in our community but also to build my business to where I have the opportunity to hire recruiters as well,” Parizek said.
